Scot Kirton and the dynamic team at La Colombe are delighted to have been ranked no.76 in the 2016 edition of the Top 50 Restaurants of the World. Ahead of the Top 50 award ceremony which takes place on 13 June, the organisers have announced the list of restaurants ranked from 51 to 100, with La Colombe being the only South African ranked restaurant.
This recognition marks a phenomenal rise for the internationally acclaimed fine dining venue with Kirton also scooping the 2015S. Pellegrino Chef of the Year at the Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards last year award, in only the second year of operation at their new location at Silvermist Organic Wine Estate at Constantia Nek.
Competition for this positioning is fierce as the global judging academy comprises of almost 1000 international restaurant industry experts, offering a consolidated snapshot of their opinions and experiences.
